Play the tension. Live expansively.

You're fine.
And that's the problem.

Tricia Harding

Life is full of tension. Of pushes and pulls, of big and small, of contentment and greatness, of speeding up and slowing down, of striving and savoring. And just like a string on an instrument, the tension is not the enemy. It's the source. A string under the right tension sings.

Too much tension and it snaps. Too little and it goes slack. A slack string doesn't produce music. It's lifeless and completely lacking in resonance or voice. It's potential that never becomes anything.

Fine is the slack string. It's the year that looks good on paper and feels like nothing in particular. Fine is what happens when we protect the instrument instead of playing it.

Fine isn't failure. It's subtler than that. It's the slow forgetting that we are here to make music.

There is more available to you than fine. It can be bigger, deeper, brighter than the version we settle for when we are fine. It's both the Sunday nap and the 5am alarm. The one life changed and the thousands. The putting down of roots and the thrill of exploration. The savor and the devour. A beautiful, impossible, human tapestry that only comes into focus when we stop resolving the tension and start playing it.

You felt it reading this. That's the string. That's where we start.

Play the tension. Live expansively.

For people who know
they have more range.

Tricia Harding leads, writes, and coaches for people who know they have more range. She helps them find it, play it, and stop protecting it.

Her work is forged in real loss and real love. She knows what it costs to play the tension. She knows what it costs to lose it. And she knows what it takes to find the music again.

She doesn't teach expansion from a distance — she lives it, continuously, and invites people into the same.

Who this is for

  • People who never found the tension
  • People who had it and lost it
  • People afraid to feel the pull again
  • Leaders whose instrument has gone quiet
  • Organizations ready for more

Where the philosophy
meets the work.

Tricia is President of Novus Global, one of the world's leading executive coaching firms. She joined when there were five coaches. There are now over a hundred, spread across the globe.

The tensions at Novus Global have never been abstract. Scale versus soul. Growth versus depth. The coach in front of you versus the hundred coaches you're responsible for. You learn to play those or you snap.

That's where the philosophy stopped being philosophy. Not in a keynote. Not in a coaching session. In the daily grind of building something real.

The practice of
becoming more.

Tricia works with a small number of individuals and organizations on the deeper work — the kind that doesn't show up on a slide deck but changes everything about how you lead and live.

This isn't about fixing what's broken. It's about expanding what's possible.

If you know you have more range than you've been playing — this is where we start.
